Update on Mom

Well, I said I would post an update, so I will make this one pretty quick. Mom had her surgery this morning and it was a success. However, the cyst was malignant and they are not sure if it is localized or a metastasis from her intestines. For those that don't know metastasis is cancer that has spread from another area of the body. Hopefully, it will not be that. I have to say, that when the doctor told my dad and I that the tumor was definitely not benign, I was pretty upset. I had pretty much prepared myself, but it was still hard to hear. My dad was completely shocked, I think, although I doubt that he would admit it. He just got really quiet for quite a while after that and I could tell that he was really concerned. My dad loves my mom so much and I know it is one of his greatest fears that she will die before he does. Anyway, don't want to dwell on sad things and fears right now. We will know more when the pathology report is back on Monday or Tuesday. I will post more then, hopefully with good news.
