Our Trip to New Orleans

Okay, I know I went to New Orleans at the beginning of May but I just got the photos from my dad (whose camera I borrowed for the trip). I took a ton of pics but I will only post a few highlights. If you want to see more photos, visit my facebook page, I have a album there for the trip. I just thought this was a really neat picture of women working on an airplane in WWII.

A copy of a newpaper talking about Pearl Harbor, could use flash so it is a little dark.
I thought this was sad but romantic.
A Statue of Andrew Jackson in Jackson Square.
The St. Louis Cathedral, anyone who read my blog Ode to New Orleans knows I am obsessed with this cathedral, but I will only bore you with one picture. I have like 7.
This is the inside of the St. Louis Cathedral, this was the first time since Katrina that it was open to the public on one of our trips.
Ah, Cafe Du Monde, I don't think we ended up eating here as much as Taylor wanted, only about 5 or so times the whole trip. The paddle wheel of the Steamboat Natchez, the cruise we took one of the days. It was really fun and educational! I just wanted to show how far below sea level everywhere except the French Quarter is in New Orleans. This is a two or three story home.
A view of downtown New Orleans from the Steamboat.
The Gumbo Shop, Taylor and I have eaten at this place for lunch the past two trips. We love it! It is a good place if you are in the mood for real traditional New Orleans food. Mmmm!
Last but not least, here is K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen! If you don't know who Chef Paul Prudhomme is google him, he is a genius and he actually still cooks in his restaurant! It was one of the best meals I have ever had!

All in all, it was a great trip! And like always, going to New Orleans just makes me want to go back again. It is just such a great town with so much great food and interesting culture and history!

I love New Orleans also. You know it's a great place when you win $325.00 at the 25 cent slot machines and then get it stolen out of your purse 5 hours later and yet still only have great memories.
