10 Things You May Not Know About Me

Just thought I would share some random things about myself that some of my readers may not know.

1. I love Agatha Christie movies, especially the Miss Marple series with Joan Hickson. I can sit and watch 4-5 mysteries in a row on a sick day. I love England in the time period after WWII, still trying to be so proper and so afraid of change, at least in the villages.

2. I am in LOVE with sushi! I started my love affair with sushi in Dallas when I was in nursing school. When I lived in downtown Dallas as a single girl, I used to order sushi to be delivered at least twice a week. I have recently found a new sushi place to love called TOMO, thanks to my brother-in-law Hayden and his fiance Jen. Thanks guys! Even Taylor and Blake are becoming obsessed. My love for sushi has that effect on people.

3. Until I was about 12 or 13, my parents couldn't get in the car and start it without me freaking out and running to jump in. My parents have never left me behind and they never understood my irrational reaction. However, it turned out that my uncle Scott (the psychologist!) and my aunt Teresa left me at the Abilene Country Club when I was about 2. Apparently, I was being a brat and didn't want to leave, so they thought they would drive down the road a little and I would get the point. They did not have any kids at this time. I ran after the car, crying and screaming. Needless to say, Mom and Dad were a little ticked at this confession, which came when I was about 18 and since they had to deal with the consequences.

4. I have never broken any bones except for my toes, of which I have broken several. The latest was my right little toe which I got caught on a crate that had been sitting in the hall for months. Once, Taylor stepped on my toe that had a toe ring on it and he broke my toe. I just used the toe ring as a brace and now the second toe on my right foot is crooked. Thanks, honey!

5. I get teary-eyed about anything sentimental on TV, whether it be the winner of America's Next Top Model, Paul Potts singing on Britain's Got Talent, or Extreme Makeover, Home Edition (I actually sob with this one). Taylor is sweet and tries to ignore my sniffles, but pretty much anything sappy and I will be dabbing an eyes. In real life, I pretty much cry if anyone else does, which was always hard for me with the delivery of babies because everyone cries.

6. I really like to cook breakfast food. On a Saturday morning I really enjoying eggs, bacon, and biscuits or pancakes. It is very sad for me because Taylor doesn't really even eat breakfast so I seldom get to indulge my love of breakfast food. Barley, however, is a great lover of bacon, so he does enjoy Saturday morning breakfast.

7. I am a little OCD about my bathroom products. It is only the things that sit on the counter like my perfume, hair products and lotion, but I have to make sure they are all lined up with their labels turned forward. What's funny is that I am not a neat person by any means, anyone who has seen my house on a regular weekday can attest to this. It is just one area that I always like to be tidy.

8. Taylor and I love to talk about what we would do if we won the lottery. Taylor buys us lottery tickets whenever the lottery is over 100 million (you know, cause what could you really do with anything less) and he always jokes that we are going to win. I have the worst luck on earth, so I am not allowed to wish him luck, give him a good luck kiss, buy the ticket, or even touch the ticket. Taylor wants to go to Japan and build a kitchen like Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef; and I want to go to New Zealand and have a true home theater. We both want to never work again, we just want to travel and entertain.

9. I always have painted toenails. My mom always taught me to have painted toenails at all times. I think I have pretty feet so I always have pretty toenails. I get pedicures every 2-3 weeks and have for the last 4-5 years. I am just not a fan of unpainted toenails, at least not mine. I also tend to get people hooked on pedicures, I did it to my mom and my best friends.

10. If I could do any job in the world, I would be a female action hero. I would totally be a female spy or a paid assassin. I think it would be great to be like Lara Croft or Beatrix Kiddo, able to do kung fu, shoot a gun and ride a motorcycle. I always thought that would be the most exciting job in the world! Probably because I am totally uncoordinated and not that athletic and would probably never be able to do any of these things. I did take kickboxing in high school and a little in college and I wasn't that bad, but I am not sure that there is a big market for nurse vigilantes.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed the little tidbits that I have shared and now have a little better insight into my twisted, crazy mind. This definitely helped my boredom today at work...

OK, I love this one. Very nice list. Can't believe you outed Scott for the car trauma!

And...I maintain, there is never a reason why anyone's toenails need to look shabby or unpainted.
